Out-of-Province and/or Country results for divisions offered within Alberta will be excluded from the leader board. Out-of-Province and/or Country results will still be accepted for divisions not offered in Alberta in order to continue to recognize AHTA members competing at higher levels including CIC*/CCI*, Intermediate & CIC**/CCI**, Advanced & CIC***/CCI***/CCI****. This change will not affect travel subsidies awarded to those competing out of province for Preliminary and above. Out-of-Province and/or Country results must still be submitted prior to October 1 of each year to qualify for travel subsidies.

NEW! Alberta Championship Format Changes For 2017

At the annual general meeting of the Alberta Horse Trials Association the membership voted to revise the Championships format as follows:
Run 2 separate events simultaneously; the event and the championships. Riders choose which they want to enter (qualifications still apply).
Championship dressage will have 2 judges and a separate cross country track (similar to regular event but added difficulty).
Show jumping tracks will be the same. Points for yearend leader board will be applied for Championships and regular divisions as per current regular point scoring system.

Qualifications: Horse and Rider pair must have completed 2 Alberta competitions in the current year at the level planned to compete at in the Championships.
Horse and Rider pair must NOT have completed more than 2 competitions in the current year at a higher level than what you intend to enter.
Horse and Rider pair must have achieved a “Top 8 Finish” at a current year Alberta event for the level entered.

AHTA Out of Province Competition Results and Travel Subsidy

The deadline for travel subsidies application is October 1st. Funding for subsidies varies and will be determined early in the new year. Competitors must be eligible to represent Alberta according to the AHTA policies guide. Travel subsides are considered for the following:
1. North American Young Rider championships
2. National of interprovincial championships
3. International competitions
4. Others considered on individual basis. Preliminary, Intermediate, Advanced or FEI competitors traveling out of province due to lack of provincial competition at that level.
5. Out-of-Province and/or Country results must still be submitted prior to October 1 of each year to qualify for travel subsidies.

Subsidies will not be awarded to competitors who attend out of province events that conflict with events offered in Alberta at their level of competition.
