New For 2021 – Updated Safety Policies!

The AHTA has been hard at work over the winter and has implemented some new policies focused around our number one priority according to our membership – Safety!

Our new AHTA Medical Services Policy was put in place to educate and assist our organizers in obtaining higher quality ambulance services. The AHTA is offering financial assistance to event sites that are able to meet these high quality requirements.

It has also become clear to us that most of our members were not aware of the proper channels to go through if a complaint or concerning situation arose, or if an appeal needed to be made. We have put together the AHTA Complaint or Appeal Procedure document to help our members better navigate any situations that arise. The AHTA Witness Statement form we’ve created is another helpful document that can be utilized to help in certain situations.

Finally, we have taken the guidelines from Equestrian Canada’s Code Of Ethics and created our own AHTA Substance Use Policy based on the national code. We hope this guides our members more clearly in what behaviors are appropriate for our sport.

We would like to thank the AHTA board of directors for their hard work on these new policies!
